Albania scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to deny Croatia a victory that dents the 2018 World Cup finalists hopes of reaching the knockout stages of Euro 2020.

Klaus Gjasula's late goal secured a deserved point for Albania as they drew 2-2 with Croatia in Bucharest on Sunday.

Croatia, who reached the final of the World Cup three years ago, had taken the lead through Nikola Vlasic in the 60th minute.

But Albania hit back just four minutes later through Armando Broja, who scored his first international goal.

Croatia regained the lead in the 82nd minute through Ivan Perisic, but Gjasula's late equaliser rescued a point for Albania.

The result leaves Croatia bottom of Group D with just one point from their two matches.

Albania, meanwhile, are third in the group with two points, behind England and the Czech Republic, who both have four points.

In the other Group D match on Sunday, England beat the Czech Republic 1-0 at Wembley.

Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game in the 12th minute.

The result leaves England top of the group with four points, ahead of the Czech Republic on goal difference.
